Reflection Post

For my first year of high school i have been through a lot of things that was good or bad. High school changed me a lot since the beginning of the school year. It all started since the last day of my middle school Middle Year Alternative (MYA). I knew that since middle school was over reality is coming and the real school begins here. I knew that whatever decisions i make now in high school really counts and all of my steps from that point on will count. I got this type of feeling that I should become tougher and i should change my view of people since we were all grown up and people can be different. When i got accepted into Parkway West high school i was so happy because that is the school i really look forward to going to and i heard they had a lot of programs that can help me with my career, being a mechanical engineer. It was September 3rd, 2011 and I was so focused i had all of my uniform ready and my bag was filled with things i need for school. I went to bed around 8 that night and i woke up at 5:30 am. I was so eager to go to school and start at a fresh school with new people and new teachers. It was hot outside and i got there VERY early. When i got to school it was 6:45 am and i was one out of 6 people there. We had to go into the auditorium and i was assigned to 402. Every since that day i changed into a young MAN!

Damn Interesting!

I was on a website called www.damninteresting.com and there was an article about a guy teaching another guy how to fly a jet on a rainy day and when they were high up in the air they heard the thunder but it happened to seem louder than usual and when they turned around to see if everything was OK they seen that their glider was missing. The thunder hit the back of the jet and took the back of the jets glider off. When they realized what had happened they started to panic but they never left the plane so they stayed in there and panicked. Fortunately they survived the crash landing and the thunder hitting the plane and they made it home safely but I think in order to avoid more life threatning situations like these and making people scared, when the weather is rainy and there are tornado watches, thunderstorms, hail, etc. they should just cancel or delay one of these events until another time, no one wants to lose their life to something like this exspecially when your thousands of feet up in the air. I take a plane to Barbados every summer and when Philadelphia is having rainy weather flights get delayed or canceled. Before i read this article when things like this happened i thought it was the worst because i just wanted to go to Barbados but now that i read this article i believe that the delays and canceling of flights are 100% necessary! I am no one would want to come across as something as scary as this so my word to the people out there that have no type of fear for this is BE CAUTIOUS!!! PLEASE!!!!!

This I beileve

I read an article today and the name of it is "Getting Angry Can Be A Good Thing" by Cecilia Munoz. This article was about a lady who was around in the world war II and one of her friends said if the USA had to fight her kind of people (Hispanic). When she heard that she was very angry and that convinced her to join immigration. So after experiencing all of this she said that it encouraged her to be something very good and now she could help people from falling into problems that the japenese people had fallen into when the USA was fighting them. If you ever wondered why the Japanese people were put into these camps is because USA thought some Japanese people will be spying on them and they wanted to be safe. I think that this article is true and getting angry could be a good thing because it could help motivate you. For instance if you had got an F on your report card and you were angry about it you would be determined to get a better grade, so when you get mad it can be more than trying to get revenge or fighting someone. When people here angry they think of attitude and they think of some type of way for someone to try and get revenge on something or someone but in this case getting angry was the right thing to do...  Another example is say if one morning you went in your moms room and you asked her for a dollar and her reply to you was "do you think i am rich maybe you need to get your lazy behind up and go get a job". You can get angry and be motivated to goi get some type of job so when she sees you come home and have money in your pocket she would know that you actually did something and you never know she mightt ask you for some money to help pay the bills :P

Brodcasting Whitnesss?

I read an article today and the title of it was called "Brodcasting Whiteness". From the title of this article i could already tell that there were going to include something about being racist in there. The article basically was talking about how TV shows nowadays do not include enough races in there such as Hispanic, Black, Chinese, Asian, people. When you really think about it there is not enough race in TV shows. The excuse for this is that producers put the races that other people wan to see thats why there is more white people than other races on Tv. I think this is not a good excuse and something needs to be done about it. They also said that people would not find the most shows interested if not enough people were not in the shows. TV series like Law and Order: Specials Victims Unit has former rappr like Ice-T and a lot of people seem to enjoy this show. I think if this was to be brought over on the news or something this article would get a lot of negative reviews because things like this shouldnt be happening. I think this is encouraging racism and something should be done about it.. If i were a producer i wouldnt look for specific races i would look for talent, what people are good at doing, isnt this what the hollywood thing is all about.. ?

Gun Fashion

Something very interesting was brought up in class and the topic was gun fashion. When my journalism teacher was asked what gun fashion is he explained to us that it was a new clothes line that includes hiding spots for guns. My personal opinion to the person in charge of this buisness, has problems and serious problems too! Why would you want to make clothes that hide your guns when a lot of people nowadays are being murdered with these weapons? Why would you want to make something like this when people are trying to lessen the amount of gun use in the world? I think this clothes line should be shut down immediatley or whenever a murderer murders someone and he is wearing these clothes the company should be sued a good large amount of money since they are encouraging this bad behavior, because this is all it is! I dont think that this new type of fashion should be allowed, as a matter a fact this shouldnt even be called fashion the title of this should be "A Way to Hide From the Cops"...... Hopefully this buisness is shot down immediatley and no one is hurt. I think that the president should step in and do something about this and the boss, producer, or founder of this buisness should do time in jail because this is illegal and a crime to me.....

Parkway West Health Fair

April 12, 2012 Parkway West held a Health fair. The health fair was informing people on what ways you can help keep your body healthy. One of the ways the health fair provided us with info is buy handing out panflicts that basically include the following things you should and shouldnt do to keep your body healthy. One of the most interesting topics to me was the drugs and sports. This was basically talking about why people should not do drugs while playing sports because in can take away big advantages from you. I thought this was very interesting because i can name a couple of people that love to play sports but can use drugs here and there. When i asked Sophmore Darion he said "I dont really like sports but the athleetes should really pay attention to this because it can hurt them and there future careers." Another thing that seemed to catch my attention was the condoms and lubricators that were given out at the health fair. The lady that was sitting behind the desk said that this is very important because it can stop pregnancies and safe sex is a very good way to help. A lot of people laughed at the fact that condoms were there and they seemed to want alot
(which can be a somewhat of a good thing), but the whole thing was to make sure that teens are having safe sex and they can stop pregnancies. This health fair was very interesting and i hope they do it again next year!

Trayvon Martin

One month ago a teenager was murdered by the neighborhood watchman because of nothing. Trayvon Martin, the victim, died on the spot and ever since people reactions to it has caused this story to be world-wide. The name of the person who killed young Martin was named George Zimmerman. George was known to be somewhat of a racist person and he always had something against blacks. When George was in court he was not convicted because a lot of proof was not found. I dont understand if someone is killed, people witness it, and you dont have enough proof from that, then the government is screwed up big time. I think that George should be arrested immediately. Every time people ask questions about Trayvon to George he has a different story for every person. George claims that Trayvon attacked the him and that what caused him to retaliate the way he did. Now to me he should be arrested immediatley because he just admitted his crime. People seem to find all the wrong things about people that makes the bad person seem so innocent. Files of Trayvon Martin was pulled up showing that he was not one of the bet kids in school. The files shown that Martin was suspended, always in detention, and getting alot of complaints. My thing is why look up the past, just because he had problems in school does not mean that he was doing something wrong that specific night. Why believe the killer? What is so special about the killers stories? Are people really saying that Trayvon Martins death was what he deserved? I cant believe the world i live in today!

Nicki Minaj

A lot of people have their opinions on Nicki Minaj but according to www.worldstarhiphop.com Nicki Minaj is "mysterious". A video shown on world star hip hop shown Nicki Minaj's eyes turning white as her head turned. When i scrolled down to the comments of people and what they think on this video some people called it fake, scary, WTF, and photoshopped. MY opinion on this video is that Nicki Minaj is some type of creepy artist that thinks there is another side to her that comes out and makes her feel demonic. I also think that Nicki Minaj is some type of weird person who thinks she is crazy, like some type of prson with terrets r something. I asked a couple of classmates of mine what do the think about it and my friend Darryl said "Nicki Minaj is just weird like that. I think the video is real because she is the type of person to do these types of things, for instance the awards show when she performed 'Roman Reloaded.'" One of my other friends Andre said, " I dont think it was real it was probably some type of speacial effect that the person used just like in Tyler the Creators videos when his eyes are all big wide and black." There was a comment made while interviewing Andre by Terrance (another friend of mine) saying why do people believe everything on the internet. I think that it is real in some type of way and i also think that the illuminati is real because the people that are mentioned act suspicious.

Most Births Outside Marriage

   This article says that the reason why less people are marrying is because there has been a sex revolution meaning that people have done things to have sex before they are married and not become pregnant. This might not have work because people are still getting pregnant before the age of 30 so this means that people are still having children at a young age. My opinion is that people should be able to have their children at the age of 18 and up because they are typically an adult and they are on the virge of mking decisions for thereselves. The article said alot of people were being pregnant below the age of 30. I think that this fact is true because nowadays alot of people seem to be sexually active at the age of 12-13 years old.
   In Philadelphia alot of girls seem to be what are called freaks. This saying means that they do whatever they want to have sex with someone. Boys like the girls to be that way because they dont have to worry about having sex or people calling them a virgin. I think that this shouldnt matter if someone is a virgin or not because they should be worried about something else at their age. This also brings up the statment made in the article saying that alot of people have sex before they are married 

LRA?

   Did you ever hear about children becoming soldiers at a young age? A lot of people have been talking about a specific topic called invisible children. This article has been talking about the thousands of children kidnapped everyday in Uganda, Africa to make them become child soldiers. This has been going on for the past 20 years and people are now starting to realize what is going now. According to http://communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/conserving-freedom/2012/mar/7/kony-2012-bringing-joseph-kony-justice/, Joseph Kony has been at the top at the ICC for a very long time and even though the people knew what was going on they just started to do something about it 26 years later. Joseph Kony had an interview on bbc and he said that e did not do any of those things that people claimed he did but of of course some one will say that when they know they are the most wanted/ hated person in the world right now. A little boy named Jacob Acaye was abducted by Kony's troops but he managed to escape when a tourist took him away and to America. After that the man made an oath saying that he will do whatever it takes to make sure the other little children will be saved. Barack Obama also made an oath saying that he will send out small troops saying that will provide help to the Ugandans army and hopefully help find Joseph Kony be brought to justice. The biggest problem that Kony is causing is him stealing little children and turning them into the worst things ever. Joseph Kony needs to be charged with aggrigatd assualt, kidnapping, child pornography, and many more. The reason why Kony is so powerful is because many people ear him and his little crew so they would never tell where he is or what he plans to do because he is the leader of the Lords Ressistance Army.

Kids Are Soldiers?

Some places in the world there are things called Child Soldiers. If you were thinking little children being real soldiers you were correct. This situation is happening in a lot of places, most places are in Africa. People have been kidnapping little children and making them into little soldiers. Their objective is to kill other child soldiers that impersonate on their territory. They also have to kill any other children that does not seem to respect what they do.
I think this needs to stop. First of all why are people in Africa worrying about stupid things like these when people all around them are dying from starvation and not being supplied with the food they need to survive. I also think the other countries that are included in this need to stop and try to help out one another. What do they fight for you probably ask. These people fight for nothing except respect this is what they do to earn respect well i think this is a waste of time and they need to find something better to do with their life. I think that the people that are kidnapping the children need to be treated the same way because they would not like it if someone took their child to do some dumb stuff like this 

Facebook Is Using Me?

  This article was written by a woman telling us that the information that we put out on the internet (even if its private) will still be available for other people to see. This article was also saying that people can use the things you do or put online can be used against you in future interviews for jobs or any other thing that you need that includes job info.
  I think this article could of saved my life because now I am cautious of what i put online. I dont really think that they would use what I put on the internet right now because I am really considered a child but in the future if any other social websites come out that seem to interest me i would always remember not to put anything that can be used against me. A good example of what not to do is what my friend did. On Twitter the other he said "Yo just smoked some good weed on Friday." NOW if he wanted a job (because he is 20 years old) the interviewer could look up some stuff about him see what he wrote and decline him because they might not want someone who does drugs in there buisness because it can probably hurt their career in the future as well as my friend. In the article the woman said that there should be a law stating that this should be illegal. I think that this law should be made because they should not be able to enter someones personal things or view what they put online. I can see if you follow someone on Twitter or become friends on Facebook but if you do not do the following then you should not know what we do. A good word for what these people are doing is called Human- Trafficking.

I'm A Criminal

   This article was about a woman named Michelle writing about people being criminals. She basically was saying we are not different from any of those criminals the only thing is they were caught and we were not.
   Every one is a criminal in some type of way, according to Michelle, some people speed, steal, smoke, drive while intoxicated, and drink. The only people that probably went over the limit with what they did were the only people to get caught by police or other people.
   I did some things before that weren't right, that could've caused me to get in some serious trouble if the cops caught me. I remember when i was 9 years old i stole some bubble gum from Walmart and when i got in the car i remembered i had it in my pocket. I got scared when I heard the cops coming towards me me but they were going to get someone else. I was so happy when i realized  they were going for someone else but i was still scared.
   I remember last summer i got drunk from a drink called the grenade. It was a mixture of sweet milk, rum, and plain alcohol. Mind you i was only 14 years old and I am not supposed to be drinking until the age of 21. I did a lot of wild things that day, I was known to be the wild boy like Steve-O.

Photoshopped

   I do not think that people being photoshopped is a bad idea because if someone does not want a pimple or blemish showing up in a photo they should be able to remove it. It is not like they are making you seem like you aren't who you ar and they are using your body to be someone else. It is as simple as 123.
  People that want to be photoshopped obviously do it or want it for a reason. I don't think that people should be discriminated  for wanting to do something with their own body, if you did not know its a persons choice to do what they want to do with their body.

iPad

This article about the iPad factory in China is very interesting in many ways. I think the article deserves a ten out of ten because it tells everything in a very exciting way. This article was about a factory located in China that blew up causing many injuries and four deaths. Ever since after the explosion safety warnings has became a very serious thing. It has become so serious to factory owners that people are even being hurt because of it. Some people complain about it all the time but the only a change could be made is if someone sees what is going on and tries to stop all of it by happening. For instance the Nike factory in Philllipenes was shut down and relocated because of so much things happening in their factory because of the machines and excessive pain. People stood up for many hours causing their feet to swell very large. It has ben told that some people have even passed out on the job because of working for sixteen hours non stop.
   I hope someone reads this article and says it is time for a change because of the things that are being done to these hard workers. In the article they were talking about the amount of money a worker is paid. I really think this should be change. Someone working for so many hours and only getting and low hourly wave such as ten cents! This really is going to far now people like this need to be honored and payed at least 17 dollars an hour. People have to realize without these people who are working their butts off in these factories there wouldn't be any iPod, iPad, iPhone, I think there wouldnt even be any predictions to come up with these things that is why we have to show these people a little bit more respect and to do that first they have to respect one another.

Cracking Teenagers Code

   This article was quite  interesting. It was about a lady visiting schools telling them about how kids should have a little bit more freedom. I think she was right in some statements she made but the wrong in others. I think that some children should not get the the freedom beacuse they get carried away and start flash mobbing. I also think that the amount of computer use a teen has should be allowed, not everyone wants to be friends with everyone or wants to explore the whole world.Maybe the world would be a little better if We started off being more of a explorngthen we are now maybe the world wouldn't be so violent if everyone woul explore a little more. I think this plan could've worked if it was 3-5 years ago when the world was less violent. I do not think that this article could affect alot of people in many ways whether it's helping them or making them a little bit mor supportive to their child. My final thought is if this was to happen to me I would let my child explore a little more because I don't want him to grow up and be violent like the children today !

Illuminait pt.2

Illuminati is a big thing. IT is known to cause deaths it is known to be a secret but mostly everyone knows about it. I dont know why Illuminati is trying to be such a secret but makes there signs so obvious.
  I do not like illuminati because they are so dumb. I think their plans to "destroy the world" is a big waste of time. I think anybody who cant find anything better to do but try to kill innocent people and not make a good thing in life needs to die themselves. I dont like the fact that they hip hop artist like Jay-z making their songs underground should be banned.
  Hip Hop should be banned maybe the violence in the U.S.A. will be decreased. I think that Hip Hop is the biggest problem in the world today. Having sex, getting money, killing people, guns, and crime is all what songs are talking about today in 2012!
  People should talk about what not to do and what to do to stop the illuminati. People like Jay-z need to be fired. They also need to demolish the contract called rock-a-fella. This is one of the biggest reasons why Illuminati is a big success today. I think anybody in the Illuminati should pay the price by giving up their life. There will be a pt. 3

Young Relationships

    Young relationships seem to be the big thing all over the world. People the ages of 10-17 seem to go through a lot of these things. Some relationships are good and could last as long as marriage; some relationships can be horrible and even cost death.

   Some people take relationships way too serious and can cause their mate to fall off (break away). Break-ups can be very serious towards someone. If someone really likes their special person but this special person does not feel the same way they might want to break-up, which will cause some people to feel sad, guilty, relieved, or violent. There are cases where some people have killed their self because their special someone broke up with them and they think they should still be together.
 Relationships should not be taking as serious when you are such a young age because you basically still have a long life to live. Having a long life to live means you will find someone else you will probably get married and find real love.
   Us young people say we love someone but none of us know the true meaning of love, where to find it, or even how to express it. Nowadays its all about sex in relationships which is causing a lot of Teenage pregnancy. I think young relationships should still continue but just be a little bit more curious about what to do and say in one.

Girl Fights

    Girl fights is a very popular search on the Internet site called YouTube. Girl fights has over millions of views because people find them so interesting. Girl fights has increased over the past years because some girls let little things get to them. The biggest reason why most girls fight is because of Boyfriends or Baby momma drama. Girls fight all the time because of them. They are mostly used as "hood fights".
  People look at these videos for entertaining. I think that girls who do this are fools because they fight for one person who sometimes does not even want to be with them. You will find videos like these on shows called Jerry Springer, Maury, or Cheaters. My thing is why fight for someone when there is billions of people in the world, they're here for a reason.
 Some people think they are cute when they do these things, they think they are so popular but it only makes people have a bad perspective of you and they might not respect you as much as they did or was planning to before.
  My point is do not let one person get to you because you will find someone else. If you were loved before it means yo u are attractive so you will be found attracted by someone else.

Biggest Story of 2011

     The biggest story of the year 2011 is the story is the death of Osama Bin Laden. Revealing the death of Osama was a very big surprise to everyone because he seemed so powerful and had to find. The night of May 1, 2011 was the first time it w broadcast that Osama Bin Laden was shot in the head by someone in the Army.
      I think the death of Osama Bin Laden is a very big accomplishment for U.S.A because Osama always threatened to do horrible things to us. After 9-11 a lot of people fear that Osama will plan something else destructive as 9-11. After the death of Osama a lot of people felt relief and actually can feel more safe.
     I feel that Osama has someone ready to take his place when he dies. I think whoever takes over for him will be the same and try the same crap that Osama did.
     People all over the world put videos on YouTube named "Osama Bin Ladens Death Reaction"; They seemed so happy, some where still hating him saying things such as BIH (Burn In Hell) and F*** him. It might seem innopropiate but if you really think about it he deserves this type of treatment!
